One Direction's Zayn Malik has been announced as the newest ambassador of The British Asian Trust, joining a list of celebrities including Naughty Boy, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Dev Patel.

Hitan Mehta, Executive Director of The British Asian Trust, commented 'We are delighted to welcome Zayn Malik to The British Asian Trust family; he is a young man with immense talent and a dedicated following'. The trust aims to provide funding to support charities improving education, health and livelihoods in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
